Event-based volunteerism has been on the rise for many years as volunteers seek out low-commitment opportunities to fit with their busy lives. At the same time, little research has been done on shifts and trends in engaging these short-term volunteers. In early 2025, MAVA launched a research project to learn more about the current state of event-based volunteerism, including challenges, emerging trends, and strategies for success. Join us for this virtual workshop to learn the results of MAVA‘s research and begin applying these strategies to your own engagement of event-based volunteers.
This interactive workshop is designed for emerging and aspiring leaders who want to develop the confidence, skills, and mindset needed to lead with impact. Participants will explore how self-limiting beliefs hold them back, learn the foundations of inclusive leadership, and practice strategies for securing engagement and buy-in from their teams. Using EQ improv exercises, SMART goal planning, and leadership reflections, this session equips participants with actionable tools to foster an inclusive and high-performing leadership style.
This event features an expert panel that will share their knowledge and experience working through these questions and then lead an extended open discussion.
Join your peers in healthcare for a free, informal discussion of current hot topics in volunteerism. The meeting is virtual through Zoom from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. Open to MAVA members and non-members alike.
The White Allies Resource Group engages individuals in volunteer organizations who are focused on promoting racial equity and social justice. Through facilitated discussions, participants learn to recognize privilege, confront biases, and develop effective strategies for allyship. This group is intended for those seeking to actively contribute to social change while reflecting on their roles in addressing systemic racism. Join us to collaborate in fostering inclusivity and creating a more equitable society.
