A message from MAVA’s Executive Director, Karmit Bulman

During this time of rising needs and decreasing resources, we must recognize that volunteer engagement is a critical strategy that will result in maximum mission capacity for all organizations and community groups. We simply must change the way we do business to address community needs. Effective volunteerism is this change.

MAVA connects, educates, strengthens and advocates for volunteer engagement leaders and their organizations to positively impact communities. MAVA is the premiere statewide organization uniting, educating and advancing Minnesota communities through excellence in leadership of volunteers and best practices in organizational volunteerism. MAVA conducts research and develops educational tools to maximize impact. MAVA is the only organization of its kind in the world.

MAVA serves as a clearinghouse for leaders of volunteers so that the work of volunteers, and the leaders who manage them, are visible and well supported. MAVA brings volunteer engagement leaders together and works with non-profits, faith-based organizations, schools, and government entities to strengthen the work being done to address some of our most dire community problems.

MAVA’s goal is to raise $30,000 in 2020 in order to fully staff our diversity and inclusion efforts. We have over 500 partners who need your help in dismantling systemic racism in volunteerism and count on MAVA to lead the way in educating and training volunteer administrators and organizations to engage volunteers from underserved communities.

Engaging volunteers requires infrastructure and support. MAVA requests financial gifts in order to help organizations address a myriad of pressing community and environmental needs—poverty, climate change, affordable health care, and more. Millions of people in communities nationwide have the energy and desire to volunteer to help meet these necessities, but most nonprofits, schools and government entities lack the necessary infrastructure to effectively deploy volunteers. Your generous contribution helps organizations build that infrastructure.

MAVA invites you to make a multi-year gift of $250, $500 or $1000 and will appreciate any financial gift you are able to provide.

Please donate here. A heart felt thanks,
