Greater MN Report

Julie Vreeland | Published on 9/3/2020

Hard to believe we are in fall of 2020 already. MAVA had a busy summer and we are looking forward to our Virtual Conference in November. Check out the MAVA website for speakers, topics and keynotes for this three day conference set for November 2020.

MAVA held it’s first in person training on July 28-29, 2020 in Fargo, ND. It was a Volunteer Impact Leadership Training Series (VILT) and with 12 people paid and signed up, only three people attended the training. Still a very good session as all of the VILT Trainings are but we will not be holding in person trainings again for 2020. Special thank you to the YMCA of Cass and Clay in Fargo, ND for hosting.

In June I had the opportunity to present for the ALIVE Rural Communities of Practice webinar and have continued by following up with questions on rural volunteerism. The Chair of the NW and WC District Councils, Cairn Reisch, will be presenting at the November virtual conference and is continuing to gather information for that presentation. Please remember to fill out the Greater MN survey that was emailed out in August so we can get good results.

MAVA is planning our 2021 training and looking for your input as well. If there are topics you would like to see presented please let me know – or if you have a presentation you would like to share we are interested in hearing from you. Please contact me at jvreeland@mavanetwork.org or 218.330.1185.
