Greater MN Report
Published on 10/3/2019
Fall is in the air and seems like programs in Greater MN are starting to get back into full swing. Our first of many District Councils will begin in October and run through November.
The NE District Council will be meeting on the 3rd of October at Animal Allies. I would like to welcome new Chair for the District – Shirley De la Torre to the Council. Shirley is also the new Volunteer Coordinator at Animal Allies in Duluth and want to welcome her to the Council. We have a lot going on in October from presentations at Second Harvest trainings around the state to a presentation at the Minnesota Prevention Program Sharing Conference in Duluth. MAVA is always working with organizations that utilize volunteers in their everyday programs. Also, the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls awarded MAVA a grant to provide Service Enterprise to organizations in their service area. This includes the 14 counties of Central MN.
If you would like to learn more about this program and scholarships that are available please contact me at
jvreeland@mavanetwork.org
. Applications for this SEI cohort are due October 11, 2019. We are also starting to plan for our 2020 Volunteer Impact Leadership Trainings around the state. If you and your organization are interested in hosting in 2020 please let me know. Our first Greater MN training is March 2-3, 2020 at Camp Friendship in Annandale.
