Recruitment Resources

For some great ideas about how to plan, present and follow on a recruiting pitch to a specific audience of potential volunteers, check out this helpful guide from Michigan State University’s Extension service: Targeted Volunteer Recruitment: Planning Your Presentation

Tobi Johnson & Associates created a volunteer recruitment checklist for users to identify areas of weakness in their volunteer recruitment efforts and prioritize which to tackle first. Download the checklist here.

What is AmeriCorps VISTA?

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program funded by the federal government. The program offers members a modest living allowance in exchange for a year of service in low-income communities.

Keep your volunteer engagement resolutions with AmeriCorps VISTA

Want to make a change in your volunteer engagement but don't have the time to make it happen?

Through the MAVA AmeriCorps VISTA program your organization can develop, expand, or improve volunteer engagement that delivers anti-poverty services in Minnesota communities. We support projects in the areas of economic opportunity, education, and healthy futures.

Our AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time at an organization for one year to build volunteer infrastructure by developing or improving new partnerships, processes, and resources for inclusive, effective volunteer engagement.

Applications for projects are due February 8. Curious if VISTA is the right resource for you? Sign up for a free webinar to learn more about the program and application process. All new project applicants are required to attend a webinar before submitting their application. Webinar dates are January 17 or 25.
