What's Happening in Greater Minnesota

Fall is in the air and MAVA is finding great ways to bring training and information to Greater Minnesota nonprofits.

I had the opportunity to attend our Volunteer Impact Leadership Training (VILT) Series in Detroit Lakes last month. Every one of our trainers did an excellent job and were excited to spend the time in Detroit Lakes on a beautiful September day.  A big thank you to Rhonda DeBough, Garrett Zaffke and Kate Bottiger for serving as trainers for the Series.

I would also like to thank Rebecca Kent with the Becker County Energize Committee and St. Mary’s Foundation in Detroit Lakes.  Rebecca did a wonderful job of hosting our Series and being an attendee at the same time.

Our final 2018 Greater MN VILT Series will be held in Rochester October 23-24, 2018 at the United Way of Olmstead County offices.  Registration is still open and we would look forward to having you join us. Check the MAVA website for further information. This Series is being hosted by the United Way and the

Rochester Area Volunteer Administrators (RAVA).

Remember to sign up for the 2018 MAVA Annual Member Meeting.  Topic: Inclusive Volunteerism in Action: Building Relationships Across Cultures, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10:00am-2:00pm at St. Benedict College in St. Joseph, MN.  This year’s Annual Meeting is being held in two locations. The second meeting will be held in St. Paul on November 8th.See the MAVA website for additional information and to register.

Have a great October and enjoy the wonderful colors of fall.
