Promoting Job Equity for Volunteer Engagement Professionals Webinar

Wednesday, August 8, 11 am to 12 pm
Free

Join Karmit Bulman, MAVA’s Executive Director, and our colleagues across the border for a webinar highlighting MAVA’s new research on how volunteer engagement professionals are received, paid, included and understood in the workplace. The webinar, presented by Volunteer Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinators Association, provides an overview of the 2017 study, which examines why there is a lack of true understanding about the essential nature of volunteers and those who lead them. Learn about the findings from this research and how addressing key issues will increase overall effectiveness of nonprofits and government entities. You will come away with affirmative steps that can be taken to address the issues. This is a call to action! To participate, register here.

Community Thread and HandsOn Twin Cities are teaming up to share information on how to identify and engage skills based volunteers. Unlike traditional volunteers, skills based volunteers want to be of service using their specific skill sets. Attend this training to determine if your organization is ready to engage skills based volunteers and identify specific tasks that would attract them. This workshop will also include communication and change management strategies to help drive innovation and social impact. Register here.
