What is AmeriCorps VISTA

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a national service program that focuses on bringing individuals and communities out of poverty.

VISTA members serve full-time for 12 months on a specific project with a nonprofit organization or public agency. They focus on helping organizations meet their mission more effectively and efficiently in areas such as education, healthcare, and workforce development.

In exchange for their service, members receive a living allowance set at the poverty level, health care allowance, training, and the choice of an end-of-service education award ($5,920) or stipend ($1,800).
