Strengths Based Volunteer Leadership
Faciliatated by Karmit J Bulman, Esq. MAVA Executive Director
Come learn about your leadership strengths. The morning session will involve learning about your top five leadership strengths and how you can apply the strengths to the work you do in your organization. You will learn three keys to being a more effective leader: knowing your strengths and investing in others' strengths, getting people with the right strengths on your team, and understanding and meeting the four basic needs of those who look to you for leadership. You will receive a code to take the online strengths assessment by purchasing the book Strengths Based Leadership, by Tom Rath and Barry Conchie. Please purchase the book and take the assessment prior to attending the workshop.
The book will give you a code to take the online assessment. You can purchase the book at most book retailers or directly from Gallup for $20.
You may have already taken StrengthsQuest (www.strengthsquest.com) or StrengthsFinder (www.strengthsfinder.com) If you have, you can log back in to find your Top 5 strengths.
All participants must know their top five strengths in order to participate in this session.
This morning workshop will involve experiential learning and application of learning from the Strengths Based Leadership book in small groups and case studies. This promises to be a lively and fun workshop!

We will explore the five dimensions of courageous followership and how this can positively impact our organizations and our own professional lives.
