POSITION SUMMARY: Roughly 33% of SHH’s workforce is comprised of volunteers, which necessitates a high degree of coordination and attention to detail. This position coordinates the daily operations of SHH’s Volunteer Services Department. Tasks include initial screening and intake of volunteers, mass communication functions, data management and volunteer/donor stewardship. Demonstrates innovation and continuous improvement that supports a best-in class volunteer experience. Builds and maintains positive working relationships utilizing strong communication skills, a positive attitude and mutual respect for others.


Volunteer Recruitment, Engagement & Stewardship

-Complete intake process for volunteer positions and responds to volunteer inquiries in order to successfully assess volunteers and identify the “best fit”
-Conduct online recruitment activities (Volunteer Match, HOTC, Intern postings, etc)
-Coordinate Volunteer Tabling Ambassadors and process all tabling requests for department
-Coordinate Hunger 101 program Respond to requests and tasks from Director of Volunteer Services as well as Volunteer Resource Developers
-Uphold Volunteer Services Policies and Procedures
-Provides structure, guidance, and information to SHH staff to ensure a positive volunteer experience
-Leverage new technology to enhance business functions as needed
-Run reports in Civciore (volunteer mgmt. database) to support data requests for Volunteer Services and other departments
-Create and implement volunteer appreciation program
-Respond accordingly to related to the day-to-day functionality of Civicore
-Coordinate volunteer constituents with specialized needs:
Court ordered volunteers
Students needing service hours
Adults with disabilities

Service Enterprise Initiatives

-Support Volunteer Resource Developers as they plan, manage and execute tailored volunteer needs for respective departments
-Help achieve goals related to ROVI and other Service Enterprise Initiatives

Fundraising & Communications

-Collaborate with Communications department to complete mass communication tasks including: bi-monthly recruitment emails, social media, volunteer landing page, website recognition, Callfire, etc.
-Complete tasks that help support workplace giving efforts as related to volunteers
-Support volunteer matching gift efforts
-Coordinate special days of service and work collaboratively with corporate engagement team, as needed
-When applicable, coordinate turn-key projects and special events for department
-Serve as department expert on BBCRM (donor database) and LO (communications database)
