KRIS GANSEN
Winner of the 2004 MAVA Award for Excellence in Youth Volunteerism
 
Kris Gansen, President of the Third Floor Youth Center in St. Peter , MN , is the 2004 co-recipient of the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration (MAVA) Award for Excellence in Youth Volunteerism. Gansen, 17, has volunteered over 1,044 hours since January 2002.
 
 
Aside from her presidential duties, Gansen also volunteers at the Chamber of Commerce, the St. Peter Healthy Community Alliance Board, and helps
out with the Special Olympics. Sanie Fish, Gansen’s endorser, says “Kris’ commitment to service is matched by no one.”
 
The Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration Youth Award recognizes a young person (14-18 years of age) with distinguished accomplishments and an interest in volunteerism. The co-recipient of this award is 21 year-old Maya Babu of Eagan, MN. The award was presented in Minnesota Conference on Volunteerism held in Brainerd in May 2004.
