Metro Area
Volunteers in Schools (MAVIS)
Since its
inception in March 2002, MAVIS has served the needs of volunteer coordinators
in public and private schools in the Twin Cities metro area. Informal
bi-monthly meetings provide educational and networking opportunities.
Previous
meeting topics have covered volunteer recognition, volunteer/risk management
policies, staff training, fundraising in schools, coordination with PTO/As,
dealing with diverse volunteers and populations, volunteer recruitment, and
parent/volunteer guidelines and boundaries.
